How much space is required for delivery?
The amount of space required is minimal. For a 20' storage container, you will need approximately 75 feet of straight clearance. For a 40' container, you will need approximately 110 feet of straight clearance. The width requirement is approximately 10 feet.
How is the container delivered?
The driver will back in to the area, raise his trailer up approximately 15 feet in the air, and then the container will slide off the back of the trailer onto the ground. The driver will need to pull straight out from under the container.
Is there any site preparation necessary?
The only thing you need to worry about is that the surface is fairly level, smooth, and firm. We can deliver on dirt as long as it is not too soft. We can also deliver on cement, pavement, asphalt, gravel or grass.
How long will delivery take from the time of order?
Normal delivery time can be as quick as same day or 2-3 business days providing you are not having any modifications done to the unit. If you need something sooner, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
What type of modifications will you do?
We can add extra doors, windows, partitions, as well as cut containers down to custom sizes. Other non standard modifications are also available.
What if I want shelving?
We can install brackets (shelf supports) to the units upon request. The customer is responsible for their own wood or steel to rest on the shelving brackets.
How is my lock protected?
All of our rental storage containers come equipped with a steel lock box welded to the outside of the unit. The lock box conceals and protects your lock from being tampered with. If you plan to purchase a container we would recommend a lock box addition to your container.
Are the containers weatherproof?
Yes. We water-test all of our storage containers before they leave our delivery yard to be sure they do not leak. The containers are completely enclosed and will keep wind and rain out so your contents stay dry and secure. When the interior temperature becomes lower then the outside condensation can occur within the container. The amount of condensation is minimal although as a disclaimer small amounts of moisture can form within the container.
What if my container needs repair?
Hugg & Hall Mobile Storage will maintain the unit throughout the term of the rental period. If you need maintenance, simply give us a call and we will come out promptly. Regular maintenance repairs are free of charge.
What color are the containers?
“As is” containers come in various colors and labeled from the shipping line. Our standard rental units are painted beige color to blend in with your surroundings. Sale units can be painted a variety of colors. We recommend neutral colors that blend in such as beige, grey, light green, or dark green.
INSPECT YOUR CONTAINER:
When you receive your rental container, please take the time to inspect it for signs of previous water entry, openings or any other damages to the container that may allow water or rodents to enter and potentially damage your goods. When you load or utilize the container for the first time, you are telling Hugg & Hall Mobile Storage that you are accepting the container in its current condition and that it is acceptable for your intended purposes.
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
As you are aware, Hugg & Hall Mobile Storage containers are predominantly steel. Over time, exposure to the weather can cause steel to rust, pit and boil. Occasionally boils become holes. This is why it's important for you to routinely check for leaks and to perform minor repairs to the container to avoid the potential for damage to your goods. Or, be sure to call us for repairs or replacement of your unit before any damage is done.
INSURANCE:
Hugg & Hall Mobile Storage charges a monthly damage waiver to protect our container against minor damages (graffiti, holes, scratches, etc.) that may occur on your site. This damage waiver does not cover you or your goods placed in the container. We recommend that you self insure as needed to secure your goods against potential damages. If the items stored inside the container are damaged the liability rests with you the customer, so please be sure to speak to an insurance professional about insurance options available.
SHORING CONTAINER:
Once your container has been delivered and on the ground, take a look at the lower four corners of the unit. If any of those corners are not touching the ground, please be sure to shim those corners with blocks of wood to create a solid foundation before loading the unit. Unshored units can cause the doors to go out of square and not open and close properly.
FLOODING:
It's important that you assess the location where you want to place the container. Avoid placing it in low lying areas in case of flooding. If you have no options, we recommend the use of blocks of wood or concrete to elevate the container in these areas as you see fit.
PROHIBITIONS OF USE:
Hugg & Hall Mobile Storage asks that you not store any of the following materials in our containers: no illegal, toxic, waste, contaminated, controlled, hazardous, restricted, explosive, flammable, chemical, paint material of any kind, nor any inherently dangerous materials of any kind.
TICKETS/FINES:
Occasionally, but rarely, a container will be sited or impounded for improper placement. The placement of the container is in your hands at time of delivery. Hugg & Hall Mobile Storage recommends you pursue the proper permits necessary for your placement of the unit. Any tickets, fines, impound fees, etc. will be your responsibility.
